Made every year since 2003 by Francisco Olazabal, the sixth generation of the family to make wine at this historic estate. Sousão is one of the less well-known port grapes and this wine brings out its friendlier side, with typical freshness and grip softened by smoky palate and generous creamy oak.
Sensory features: A deep red almost opaque wine. Having rich scents of dark berries, balsamic oak notes, tobacco and spice. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, fleshy with good acidity, long fresh finish with black fruit notes.

Vinification: The grapes for this wine were foot trodden in traditional granite lagares-vats over 6 days.
Ageing: Malolatic fermentation and ageing in new French oak barrels for 20 months prior to final blending
