Sensory features: Vinha da Coroa is a red wine from the Douro region that is velvety, full of black fruit as blackberries, and cherries, and a solid texture. It is a wine with full of concentration a seductive and fruity core with dense tannins and plenty of minerality. A very fresh wine, with a hint of spices and a lingering after-taste recalling red fruits.

Technical notes

Grape varieties: A mix of indigenous very old vines, over 100 years old.

Winemaking: These grapes originate from an old vineyard, over 100 years old, planted with 34 different grape varieties. "Vinha da Coroa" is located on one of the highest locations at Quinta do Vallado, like a crown over all other vineyards. Thus its name, "Coroa". The grapes ferment for 14 days in stainless steel vats, 50% of them with stalk, and without any crushing. After a 14-day fermentation period with very little extraction, the wine aged for approximatly 18 months in 2nd year French oak barrels.

Store and Serve:
Storage Lying down at a temperature of 15°C. Serve at a temperature of 16°C to 18ºC.

Food Pairing:
This wine finely accompanies red meats, roast beef and grilled meats.
