Altro Merlot Friuli Colli Orientali DOC Price € 28.40

altromerlot

It was 1987 when, among the vineyards of Torre Rosazza, the idea was born to produce a different wine than the Friulian tradition of the time. From this need was born Altromerlot, probably the first Friulian wine to be aged for a long time in French oak barrels, "other" than the merlot that could be tasted at that time. Twenty vintages later, Altromerlot became a standard of undisputed elegance and still remains "other" as a sign of the uncompromising and uninterrupted attention that comes from the vineyard to the table.

Sensory feautres: Intense and lively ruby red. The nose spreads out in delicate scents of small red berry fruits and blueberries, and then recalls hints of musk and forest. In the mouth you can immediately feel the lineage of the wine, of which elegance is the most evident attribute. It fills the palate with its softness and recalls red fruit jam, then evolves into discreet hints of wood. Long persistence.
