A fresh and refined Saint-Émilion wine
Estate: Since the 16th century, the Château Le Prieuré vineyard has been cultivated in the heart of Saint-Émilion. Formerly a Premier Cru des Cordeliers, it was also renowned at the dawn of the 20th century. A Grand Cru Classe of Saint-Emilion since 1955, Château Le Prieuré reigns over a beautiful vineyard made up of several islets of vines. The talented Penelope Godefroy, oenologist and agricultural engineer, produces wines with a harmonious style that reveal the great complexity of the Saint-Emilion terroir.
Sensory Features:Dense inky black heart with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Sent sailing out of the glass is a mix of ripe red to blackcurrant and liquorice scents which are complimented by violet, vanillin cedar, earth, dried herb and subtle black olive notes. Rich, fleshy blackcurrant and liquorice fruits carry medium to full body weight across the palate with notions of vanillin cedar, dark chocolate, scorched earth, graphite and subtle spicy black olive elements lying underneath. Solidly structured with grainy tannins it finishes long and sturdy with loads of opulent fruit.
