The Zaccagnini Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is a first-class red wine. It has a wonderfully brilliant, ruby red color. The first nose of the Montepulciano d'Abruzzo presents plums, morello cherries and blackcurrants. The fruity hints of the bouquet are joined by notes of barrel ageing and even more fruity, balsamic nuances.
On the palate, the Montepulciano d'Abruzzo from Zaccagnini opens wonderfully dry, grippy and aromatic. The texture of this light-footed red wine is wonderfully dense on the palate. Thanks to its lively fruit acidity, the Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate. The finish of this youthful red wine from the Abruzzo wine-growing region, more precisely from Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC, is impressive with a remarkable aftertaste.
Grape variety: 100% Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. Aged in Slavonic oak barrels for 4 months.
Vinification: This red wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Montepulciano. Only flawless grapes were used for this exceptionally elegant single-varietal wine from Zaccagnini. After harvesting, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and large wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. At the end of fermentation, the light-footed Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is aged for several months in oak barrels. Once the wine is finished, the Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is carefully harmonized.
This red wine from Italy is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C with lamb ragout with chickpeas and dried figs, vegetable couscous with beef rissoles or roast veal liver with apples, onions and balsamic vinegar sauce.
